The meaning of 和 (wa)

Wa 和 means harmony and peace, and it's also the character used to mean "Japanese-style" — washoku for Japanese food, wagashi for Japanese sweets.

It's the philosophy behind everything I make: flavors that balance rather than compete, and tradition meeting modern taste. That's why it's in the brand name.

In practice, 和 is a constraint. It rules out the easy wins — more sugar, more salt, more of whatever is loudest. A blend built on 和 has to earn attention by being balanced, which is much harder and much more interesting.
